International Women’s Day 2009

International Women’s Day Free Workshop for Disabled Women in Manchester

Breakthrough UK are delighted to have been awarded funding from Manchester City Council to offer a free workshop to disabled women in celebration of International Women’s Day 2009.

This will take place on Friday 6th March, 1pm to 4pm at our accessible offices in Ardwick.

We can provide interpreters and assist with childcare costs if required.

The session will cover:
* Overview of employment rights – contractual, statutory and under the Disability Discrimination Act
* Effective ways to remove barriers
* Negotiation skills at work
* Sources of support to meet your employment aspirations

We will deliver the session with support from Greater Manchester Pay and Employment Rights Advice Service, and from the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People.

We are particularly keen to involve young disabled women in this workshop. For more information please contact Elaine Astley on 0161 273 5412 (voice), 0161 273 5727 (textphone) or email e.astley@breakthrough-uk.co.uk.
