International Women’s Day 2009

International Women’s Day Hounslow

Hounslow Borough Police in partnership with London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) are holding an event to celebrate women’s positive contribution to communities in the London Borough of Hounslow.

This Free event will take place on Saturday 7th March 2009 between 11.00am and 3.30pm – drop in at any time – at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN.

The aim of the event is to work at breaking down barriers that may exist between communities and build up strong partnerships to make Hounslow a safer, more enjoyable place to live, work and visit. This event will be open to all women free of charge, that live, work or visit the borough of Hounslow.

It is hoped by bringing women together there will be opportunities to obtain free factual literature, network, learn, support each other and understand the challenges of the future.

There will be a wonderful array of guest speakers from the local community presenting throughout the day and a variety of displays and stands covering areas such as, Healthcare, Legal Advice, Education and Metropolitan Police Careers. There will also be a number of voluntary organisations from the community making a contribution. In addition to this there will be entertainment provided by community group dancers and singers.

Light refreshments will be provided during the course of the day and lunch has been organised free of charge. Free parking will be available for those attending by car. Please note that the organisers are unable to provide any crèche facilities and you must supervise your children at all times.
