International Women’s Day 2009

Prada Protest for International Women’s Day!

A big deal for feminists… (and fashionistas). Meet this sat at 9.30am at Green Park tube before going onto to Million Women’s Rise March for anti-capitalist contingent. (all genders welcome on the Prada demo)

Prada: the real price of luxury

From its modest beginnings as a small leather shop in Milan, Prada has grown to become one of the most successful and well known luxury brands in Europe. Yet (mainly women) workers in two of its Turkish suppliers have been suffering poverty wages, appaling working conditions and union repression. Prada has been asked repeatedly by unions and campaigners to take action to resolve problems at these factories, but so far it has done nothing. Its time to tell Prada that enough is enough.
